The only thing constant is CHANGE...

A lot of time has gone by since I last posted here. 2010 has been a very interesting year here. I look at 2010 as a huge transition year for me. I feel like I have officially stepped into the next phase of my life. Music has been and will ALWAYS be a huge part of who I am. I will be forever thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to travel and sing with ZOEgirl all over the world, sharing His love. Right now I feel like what God is saying to me us...try something new, apply yourself and trust me with it. Yet another scary thing, when you hear that... but I never had a doubt in my mind that God had a new door ready for me to walk through around the corner.... So I picked up my camera and started taking pictures wherever and whenever, for whoever wanted them. Before I knew it, I found doors swinging wide open with my new found love for photography & videography and I was sure that this was where God was leading me.

I have been working like crazy {in between changing diapers and doing laundry, of course) getting my brand new business, MagnifyU Photography up and running. Little by little things have been growing and progressing. I have learned that pulling "all-nighters" is the way to go these days- No one is asking me for apple juice or a snack or to go play outside. It is LOVELY. I just drink lots of coffee, that's all... :) One humungous chunk of progress (ya like that one?) is......my website is up!! I am finally official and not just a facebook/myspace page. www.magnifyu.com is where you can go to see my work and from now on, that will mainly be where I post blogs so please bookmark it and stop by frequently. If you have any suggestions or thoughts about it, feel free to let me know. ALSO- if you want photos taken this summer I am officially running at facebook fanpage special- If you become a fan of my facebook page this week, you will automatically be enrolled to win a free photoshoot! Please be a fan- help a sista get started!  The odds of winning right now are VERY HIGH lol And please share this news with your FB friends and especially any friends and family here in Nashville, TN!

Hey Chrissy,

I must say, this came as a shock. does this mean you're done with music? No more ColmanBlue??

My favourite artist of all time is ZOEgirl, and unlike most fans that you have met, I did not come to know ZOEgirl as a regular band. I first started listening to you girls in 2007, exactly one year after you all went your separate ways. So for me, ZOEgirl was purely about the music. I thought you ladies were the most incredible musicians ever, being able to make great music with an even greater message.

But as I Googled ZOEgirl's members, I found that unlike many Christian artists out there today, you three are women who practice what you preach. You are amazing, anointed women of God who live as witnesses for Christ. I pray for you Kristin and Alisa constantly because it's not just your music, but your life stories that have inspired me. I feel like I know the three of you personally and celebrate when I hear good news from you girls on your blogs. I was so excited when I heard you were recording a solo album, and couldn't wait to buy it, as I own Kristin and Alisa's solo albums.

To think that Chrissy Katina won't be making music anymore is heartbreaking to me. Since I read this post (about a week ago) I have been listening to ZOEgirl nonstop and watching videos of you three performing (YouTube is such a great resource!) and it makes me wish that I had gotten to know ZOEgirl sooner, rather than after you broke up.

I am now 18 and in my first year of University, and though I only was introduced to ZOEgirl three years ago, I feel that I have grown up with you. I attribute all the amazing changes in my spiritual life to you three and the blessings your brought through your music.

It's sad to think that you all had your own plans to go solo, and then you and Kristin form ColmanBlue, but in the end, we didn't get a CD from you girls, nor did Alisa's second solo album come out. It makes me think you made a mistake in disbanding ZOEgirl so soon.

When ZOEgirl came out in 2000, there was a plethora of other Christian acts out there targeted at teen girls. You have toured with some of them. The thing is that none of those artists who sang 10 years ago, and had many teenage girls listening to their music are performing now. They have either stopped making music, or are no longer making music for God.

Your songs "Good girl" and "Dead Serious" are so encouraging to me, as well as "It's hard to be a girl," but it's even harder now, in this new decade! I can only think of one artists off the top of my head who is right now catering to the spiritual needs of teenage girls.

What I am trying to say is, you not making any more music is a huge loss to the world. There are other great artists out there, but most of them are just making music. You girls LIVED the message you were singing about. You are THE perfect examples of what it means to be 'ZOEgirl.'

There are so many girls out there who grew up with your music...watching your concert videos, i see so many girls in the audience singing along...Don't you wonder what happened to them all? Don't you wonder about those fans who invested so much time and effort into creating fansites to help promote your music? Don't you wonder about those girls who felt so 'plain' and wanted to 'scream', but realized God's love through your music? I feel like you girls have forgotten about us ZOE's...we need you.

I feel like a huge door in my life has closed-because ZOEgirl wasn't just a musical act, a band to be a fan of, for me-you girls were my role models and my spiritual mentors, and your music taught me so much. As a 'parting gift' to other ZOE's like myself, I think it would be nice if you could atleast post some of you unreleased songs, like any demos you made for "Beautiful Redemption".
